The Founders’ Scholarship Fund has been established in honor of Tim Grant Sr. and his wife, Joyce, who together founded Ellis County Music Center (originally Guitar Focus) in 1994. Tim Sr.’s passion for music touched countless lives, creating a lasting legacy of enriching the North Texas community through music education. Over the years, Ellis County Music Center has become a cornerstone for aspiring musicians, fostering creativity and personal growth for students of all ages.
The scholarship application is open to any former or current student who has received music lessons from Ellis County Music Center since its opening in 1994. The fund is designed to help those pursuing higher education in any field. The awards given are to be used toward providing financial assistance for tuition, books, or other educational expenses.

Each year the scholarship fund awards one selected applicant with a gift of $250. This applicant is selected by committee of the surviving children of the Founders' of Ellis County Music Center based upon the content of their submitted scholarship application. Applications must be received by December 25th. The year's winning applicant will be selected and announced by January 31st.
